About Sonis Art

I'm Sonis Wilfred, a painter and illustrator working from my studio in Lagos, Nigeria.

I work across digital illustration, oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Sometimes in the same week, depending on what a piece needs. The subjects I return to most are the textures of everyday Lagos life: the light at certain hours, the color of markets, the weight of familiar objects.

The work

Prints are made with archival inks on premium paper and fulfilled through a print-on-demand partner, which means they ship directly to you anywhere in the world. No middleman, no markup beyond the print cost. Originals are single pieces, shipped by me with full insurance and a certificate of authenticity.

Commissions are open. If you have a piece in mind, a portrait, a place, a particular palette, get in touch.

The studio

Lagos is a difficult city to work in and an extraordinary one to paint from. The light is different here. So is the color. I try to put that on paper.

Shipping

Prints ship worldwide from the UK and US print hubs (5-10 business days). Originals ship from Lagos, insured, in custom crating (7-14 business days). All prices in USD.
